Rolling Hills - Garden Center Staff - Rolling Hills Nursery & Garden Center

Meet the Owner and Staff of the Garden Center

We're very proud of our staff. Each one is a Kentucky Certified Nurseryman and brings a great background to his or her work at Rolling Hills.

Rob Stanfa

Rob came to Kentucky in 1973 from a summer job at a small nursery in central Illinois. He subsequently entered college at Murray State University in Murray, KY and later graduated with a B.S. degree in horticulture. Rob then moved to South Carolina to become a county agent with Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service. After 3 years he returned to graduate school to work on a Masters' Degree in plant and soil science. After completing this program Rob returned to Kentucky to start Rolling Hills Nursery in 1989.

Tina Phillips

Tina, a local Murray native, came to Rolling Hills in 1998 when they expanded to the nursery north of town. She had a lot of retail experience but only personal gardening interests and knowledge. Tina learned quickly and gained information on all the plant materials and problems, and her outgoing personality and design abilities made her a favorite of customers. After several years of devoted service, Tina became the Assistant Manager of the garden center and serves as annual and perennial buyer, container garden specialist, and customer service director.

Randy Sanderson

Randy, a native of Trigg County, graduated from Murray State University in 1988 with a B.S. degree in Horticulture. In early 1989, Rob enlisted him to help develop the landscaping division of the brand new Rolling Hills Nursery. After thirteen years of building and establishing the landscape department, Randy took on the task of developing the retail side of the business at the new facility north of Murray. He has worked as the Garden Center Manager since spring 2002, and serves as buyer of garden accents and hard goods, merchandising coordinator, and horticultural specialist in addition to his other management duties.
